The a* Karpara is at present loading in the Waitara roadstead.

The Kotoiti brought only 8 tons of cargo from south on Saturday morning. The smalraess of the cargo was due to the Coriuna having brought the Wellington cargo on Friday. The mysterious wreckage of tt vessel of about 100 tons register which was sighted by the Kapiti a few days ago off Kahurangi Point is believed (says the Dominion) to be the remains of the lost steamer Centennial. About November, 1006, the Centennial disappeared whilst bound from to Wellington. She had been purchased by Mr. J. Corry, jun., of Napier, and others, for use as a trawler Captain Corby, of the Kapiti, says that the wreckage seemed to have been a long while adrift. The mishap to the Maheno's highpressure main turbine, which was reported by cable, occurred two hours aftrr the vessel had cleared the Melbourne Heads on her way to Jfobart. Th« vessel is fitted with three propellers, and it was the centre one which stopped. The vessel was slowed a. few knots an hour as the result of one propeller being idle.
