INQUEST.

I The coronial inquest into the circiim- | stances attending the. death of Jaimcs I Buckingham was held at the Courl- | house on Saturday afternoon, before Mr C. E. Bellringer, acting-coioner, and a J jury of six, of whom Mr. C. T. Bundle was chosen foreman. Sergeant Haddivll conducted the inquiry for tile police. Was called to IJuekingiiain's room about 5.30 that evening and saw deceased lying on the bed. Seeing there was something wrong, he sent for the police. Deceased hud told him he was here with his wife about six years ago. Dr. Leatham deposed that there were no marks of violence on the body. In

the post mortem examination he found evidence of extensive pleurisy, from which the deceased must have 'suffered at some previous time. Tile heart he found to be in a condition of extensive fatty degeneration. The stomach was almost empty, which suggested that death occurred about four hours after partaking of his last meal. In his opinion death was due to syncope. [ Constable Reardon gave evidence that he was called to the bouse on Friday evening about TiM.
