ning on December Cth, and that he he instructed to report upon the matter; that the petition for asphalting the footpath i n Currie-street be referred to the borough engineer to report upon; that the committee has no recommendation to make in connection with the application of the Fitzroy Bowling Club for reduction of the charge for water; that the Council take out a policv of £3OO public risk; that the New' Plymouth Lawn Tennis Club be granted a monthly tenancy of the Powderham-stveet yard at a rental of 10s per month; that a return be laid on the Council table showing the number of dogs registered jii 1907 as compared with the number registered in 1908 and the revenue derived therefrom; that the borough engineer be authorised to procure and aflix in different parts of the town six galvanised iron rubbish receptacles. RESERVES COMMITTEE. That Mr. T. C. Boulton having agreed to pay half the. cost, the borough engineer be authorised to erect a fence between Mr. Boulton's section and the Fort Niger Reserve (estimated cost £ll His 8d); that provided the monumental masons undertake in writing to pay fo r any damage done by them, they be permitted to cart materials into the cemetery at any time, on obtaining the key from the sexton; that provided the monumental masons interested agree to pay the sum of £1 5s per annum, each for the use thereof, the borough engineer be authorised to «rect a shed for their accommodation at the end of the path : adjoining the paddock at .present leased
to Mr. Stephens, and also to extend the water-supply to the shed (cost of shed £22, extension of waterpipe £5); that a water standpipe be erected halfway between the fountain and the new shed"; in the event of trade'men executing work in any j>art of the. cemetery, they be allowed to convey their material direct to the site of the work, provided this can lie done without injury to paths, and provided also that all surplus material and litter be removed within one week after completion of the workshould, however, l«ad weather intervene, the sexton be empowered at his discretion t<> extend the time within reasonable limits; in all cases of concrete work mixing-boards shall be used in order to prevent damage to the paths or adjoining plots; that the question of metalling the road leading to the mortuary chapel lie- deferred'for the present: tlr.it Messrs.
