The annual collection, under llie auspices of 111 - I'nitod Friendly Societies in aid of the Napier Hospital funds, were imuli' in Napier on Saienhn. The weather was broken, hut eleureil towards the end of the day. The societies are holding ii de llstration at Hastings today. The weather is unsettled. Two special trains were run from Napier. The hospital trustees have this year undertaken the erection of a new home for nurses and a ward for chrome- sufferers. The reconstruction of the main building is contemplated at an early date, anil a special appeal for contributions has in consequence been made to I the public. It is believed response will prove to be very satisfactory.
