EMPIRE'S LAND FORCES.
LORD KITCHENER'S TASK. London, December 8. The Standard states that Lord Kitchener will shortly be created Field Marshal with Hie special task of cooperating with the colonies in consolidating ail the Empire's Land forces into a homogeneous army, and to formulate a plan for iU mobilisation in time of war.
