Arnst, b'ogwell, and Braitliwuite. skilled together. Arnst lowed 28 to Ihr minute for tin; quarter mile and iiuished strongly. George Wheleli visit- , i'tl the scullers' camps this afternoon. | lie had not seen Welib sine the latter beat liiitt at, Wellington, and he wast
amazed. Webb, be says, is a dilleient man altogether lo what he was then. His style has improved out of recognition, while the man himself has grown bigger in e\ery way. Webb is tire most perfect sculler Whclch has ever seen, ami he does not know of any man who could hope to beat him. Wheleli was surprise,! at the rowing powers of Arnst, who does marvellously well, though his style is far from perfect, 'f hete is no doubt he gets marvellous pace out of j his boat, but how he does it AYhclch I does not know, as he seems to uepend mainly on the strength of his arms and not on body work.
