WOMEN'S SUFFRAGE.
MOVEMENT IX AMERICA. New York, December 7. The women's suffrage movement is assuming large proportions in the United States. Many of the wealthiest, society leaders of Xew York are supporting the agitation. Dr. Akid asserted at a pro-suffragist meeting at Noiv York that, if the women were denied votes, they would resort to daggers and dynamite. Hitter opposition to the movement is developing.
President Roosevelt declares that personally he is lukewarm, believing that the majority of the women are also lukewarm.
Mr. AV. 11. Taft, the President-elect, and Mr. Hughes, Governor of New York, are willing to grant the suffrage when it is shown that the women want it.
