By Telegraph.-Press Association

(Jhmtehiirch, ilondav. Mr. I. Hopkins, Government Apiarist, who arrived in Ohri.stchurcli vesterdtiv informed a reporter that owing to r - cent rains the couutiT about Auckland and the Waikato was looking much fresher, and had more feed on it when he left last week than any land lie had seen this side of New Plymouth. White clover was yielding nectar very freely and the bees were very busy on' it. ' ' Speaking of the foul brood disease, Mr Hopkins remarked that great progress 1 was being made in suppressing it°this season, which, being drier than usual, is favorable lor eradicating it. He blieves that with the same favorable conditions that at present obtain, and with., the aid of inspection in two or three more seasons, the worst of th„ trouble will have been got over. It will then only mean care and watchfulness to keep it under. The outlook for commercial bee-keeping in New- Zealand is much more favorable than it lias ever been before.
