At the Police Court to-day, liridget Duggan, a girl of 18, who had been arrested in connection with the (hding of a dead baby near Wrcy's bush on Sunday last, pleaded guilty of concealment of birth, and was committed fur sentence. The police explained that the girl told her story very straightforward- | ly. She said tiiat she'had been keeping company with Willy Crow. .She bore | the child in a shed. She was too weak to pick it up at first, and- when she did lift it it was dead. Afterwards she concealed the body. The medical evidence was to the effect that the fall described by tile accused was consistent with the injuries found on the body. The charge was therefore reduced to one of concealment of birth.
