FATAL FALL FROM A HOUSE. liy Telegraph.— Press Association. Dannevirke, Last Night. Dennis Ryan, an old settler of the district, while returning home to liaumati from the town yesterday evening, fell from his horse ami was fatally injured. He was removed home, and died shortly after. At the impiest t.o-ilay a verdict of death from fracture of the base of the skull, caused by deceased being accidentally thrown from a horse, wag returned.
A DROWNING CASE. Hamilton, December 4. The details of the drowning accident at Waipa Hivcr were disclosed at the inquest. The Maori woman Kaiha Haimona and her child were crossing the river in a canoe. The' baby fell out, and the mother heroically jumped in to save it, Both were drowned.
