WAITARA RACING CLUB. ANNUAL HACK MEETING. The annual meeting of the Waitaiu Racing Club took place yesterday at Sentry Hill du glorious weather. Despite a strong coiinter-altmctioii in the Kilties Band, there was a large attendance, and splendid racing was the order of the day. Twelve bookmakers paid license fees amounting to £lB7 10s, which more than made up for a slight shrinkage in the totalisator receipts. The Waitara Hand enlivened proceedings with a much appreciated programme of sweet music. One complaint was lodged during the day, it being alleged that one rider crossed another during the running of the Dominion Handicap, but after ci'ii-:idcratiun the stewards came to tin. .onclusio.. that any interference that took place was quite accidental.
