INDIANS IN THE TRANSVAAL. Pretoria, December 2. Eight thousand out of ten thousand Indians iu the Transvaal have been registered. A thousand applications for registration have been rejected. It is reported that the British-India and Federal-Houlder-Shiro lines of steamships have arrived at an agreement iir connection with the new direct mail service between Britain and Queensland via Torres Strait.
