The Department of Industries and Commerce lias received the following cablegram from the High Commissioner at London, dated November 28:— Frozen Meat.—The mutton market is somewhat unsteady oil account of a reduction ill the supply on hand. Current quotations: Canterbury 3%d, North Island 3'/ 2 d, River Plate 3'/ 4 d. There has been no alteration in the lamb market sinee last week. The beef market is quiet but rather steadier, there being no change in prices. Butter.—The market remains very depressed. There 'is only a small demand, transactions being very limited. In eon- ; sequence of fine weather there is a large supply of English, and Continental but- ' ter is also in large supply. Current quotations: New Zealand 112s, Australian 110s, Danish 120s, Siberian 108s. 1 Cheese. The market is quiet, but 1 holders are firm on account of a redue- * tion in the supply. Hemp—The market is slightly weaker, with less demand, and business is dull. Quotations: On the spot—New Zealand good fair grade £25 10s, fair grade £•23, fair current Manila £24 10s. January to March shipments: Good fair grade £24 10s, fair grade £22 10s. Last week's Manila output amounted to 21,000 bales. Kauri Gum. —The market is firm, with an improved demand.
