AMERICAN MARATHON RACE. New York, November 26. The Marathon race was run on civered tracks in Madison Square Gardens. The distance waa 26 miles 385 yards. Dorando's tinre was 165 minutes 20 l-ssec. It was a neck-and-neck'race tai the twenty-sixth mile, when Dorando went ahead and finished strong. Hayes was exhausted. There were ten thousand spectators. While training, Dorando took frequent meals, his diet including three -quarts of Chianti a day.
