Melbourne, November 27. At a meeting of the Opposition Pa?ty in the Federal House of Representative, Mr. Joseph Cook, Deputy Leader, was fleeted Leader in succession to Mr. G. 11. Reid. QUEENSLAND PARLIAMENT. Brisbane, November 27. (a the Legislative Assembly Mr. P. Aii'ey's motion in favor of choosing the State Governors from prominent Queenslanders was talked out. Mr. Bowman, Leader of the Opposition, repudiated the suggestion that tlie Labor Party would follow Mr. Airey. He was opposed to State Governors bei7ig appointed at all.
