AUCKLAND SHOW.
By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Lnst Nignt. Splendid weather fncored the Auckland A. and P. Society's Show, which wa„ opened to-day. The entries constituted a-- record, and the attendance was exceptionally largo. In the light-weight hunter competition, |J. Graham's Civna secured first: prize, and the heavy-weights went to E. T. Bent's Tom Burns. ,1. W. Dalton's Markham was adjudged the best lady's hunter and D. Gorrie's Skipper the best wire juniper. Championships were awarded as follows:—Horses: draught stallion, E. J. Reid's Desford Day Boy; mare, YV. P. Massey's Lady Blythe. Cattle: Shorthorns, Wm. Taylor; Holsteins, Spencer Robinson: Ayrshires, Mental Hospital; Jerseys, YYiilis Bros. Sheep: Lincoln ram. j. R. McElwain; Knglish Lcieestcrs, J. R. Corrigan; llomney Marsh, Ernest Short; Horder Leicester, J. B. Corrignn; Southdown, Kuakiira Farm; Shropshire, ,1. It. Corrigan. Pigs: Berkshire boar, Mental .Hospital; breeding sow, P. Crosby; T.-t in worth boar, S. YVillard; sow, G. YV. Luxton.
