This evening a middle-aged man named William Biddle was found dead in, in orchard on a hillside near the Nelson railway station in circumstances pointing to suicide. Biddle was formerly an engine-driver on the Nelson section, but resigned from tlie service some five years ago, it is alleged because he was suffering from his nerves.
