MISSIONARY CHARGED WITH ASSAULT.
Thursday Island, November 20, Advices have been received from Daru. in Papua that the Rev. Mr. Baxter Alloy, of the London Missionary Society, has been committed for trial on a' charge of assaulting a colored teacher who was working under him. It U alleged tlwt Riley was challenged by the teacher and struck him, hurtinn his peck. Ihe teacher, wlio was suffering from pneumonia at the time, died three weeks after.
