AUCKLAND WOOL SALES. A IMG ADVANCE IN PRICES. Bv Telegraph.-Press Association. It is estimated that the rise at today's sale is equivalent to an increase of 3d" .per Hi on the finer wools over the closing rates at the final sale of the Reason in February last. Throughout today's sale the bidding was spirited fo> all' bright and showy wools, while Shropshire* also sold exceptionally well, S%d per lb being received by the llatakohe wool-growers. The only lines where competition was weak wis amount the coarse wools, but even here the increase is l'/ a d over the closing rates of the February sale. In addition there has been a rise of about a haltpennv all round over the prices realised at the southern sales last we?k, and altogether the position is regarded as' extremely satisfactory and likely to have a far-reaching effect on business generally in the Auckland province.
