ALLEGED HOUSE-BREAKING. By Telegraph.—Press Association. ! Wellington, Wednesday. A young man named Milford William Burgess, who was arrested in Sydney, was lirought before the. Police Court here to-day on fifteen charges of housebreaking in and about Wellington during September and October last. The amount involved is about £2OO. The finger-print system of identification plays an important part in the evidence, which is still being heard.
PRINTERS KIXI3II. Auckland, Wednesday. At the I'olice Court a local printing firm, .Messrs. C'ullen, Row ami Moorish, was charged with having printed leaflets regarding Mr. Glover's candidature for Parliament without their name anil address being printed thereon. Defendant* admitted the breach of the Act, but pleaded that the Icallct was a biography of the candidate, and that his name being on the' face of the leaflet was sufficient. The Magistrate said lie believed the defendants had deliberately taken their name off the ieatlou Because they did not wish people to know that they had printed them for Gower. He fined the defendants £5.
A PERJURY CHARGE. Invereargill, Last Night. The case in which Cochrane, chargjd with perjury in connection with the recent suit, Watson Bros v. the Southland Frozen Aleat Co., was concluded to-day. Cochrane was committed for trial.
