In an interview with u credible authority to-day, a Wairarupa Age reporter was informed that it was absolutely certain that a petition is to be lodged on behalf of the licensed victuallers of the electorate to declare the local option poll at Mastcrlon invalid. The grounds for the application were not divulged to the pressman, who was informed that they would not be available to the public until the return from Wellington of Mr. C. A. Pownall, solicitor for the victuallers, who is away on Supreme Court business.

PARNELL RETURNS. Auckland, Tuesday. The official result of the Parnell tocal option poll is: Continuance 2002, reduction 3408, No-license 3664, valid votes 0309. Reduction is carried, and no-license lost by 239 votes.
