ilB! leases of the New Plymouth barbor reserves known as Kawau I'ah were oilered for sale by auction yesterday afternoon by Messrs. L. A. Nol aa and Co. and .Messrs. Webster Bros., in conjunction. The leases were for 21 years with perpetual right of renewal at rentals based on the unimproved values. There was a fair attendance. Only one bid, however, was offered during tlio proceedings. This was for lot 5, a, suction abutting on the railway yards containing 1 rood 28 perches, with 73 feet frontage to Currie street, and u depth of 177 feet, knocked down to Mr. Newton King at the upset rental of *4os per foot. It is expected, however, that many of the other sections will be sold privately.

The unsold sections with the upset rentals are as follow:—Lot 1: Corset section, floatage 40 feet to Currie street, by 70 feet to Gill street, on opposite corner to Messrs Burgess, Fraser's premises; upset rental 32s Cd foot. Lots 2 and 3: Two sections, each 40 fost frontage to Currie street hy 70 feet depth, with right of way from Gill i street, upset rentals 27s per foot. Lot 4, 38 I'eet frontage to Currie street, 70 feet depth, with right of way from Gill street, upset rental 27s a foot. Lot !); Corner section, (10 feet to Currie street by 41 feet to Gill street, opposite lot 1 and Messrs. Cock and C'o.'s and Arch. Clark and Son's warehouses, upset ratal 30s foot. Lots 10 and 11: Two section, each having a frontage of 41 feet to Gill street by CO feet depth, lot 11 being corner section with 00 feet frontage to Kawau street, upset rentals lot 10, 2os foot; lot 11, 27s foot. Lots 12-25; Seven sections fronting Currie street, and seven sections fronting Kawau street, each with depth of U2°feet, and with frontages varying from 23 to 28 feet; upset rentals, lots 12, 14 10 IS, 21), 22 and 24, 25s foot; lots 13, i;' 17, 10, 21, 23 and 23, l(!s foot.
