L. 0. liarcourt announced that orders for Cliuo, 000 worth of torpedo destroyers bad been placed with Clyde shipbuilding yards, and the Admiralty was now adding £900,000 worth of ships. The Spectator strongly protests against the Liberal journals wiiiuling away Mr. Asquith's declaration in reference to the Navy by pretending that the llects of the United States and .lapan will not be considered. THE RECENT CHANGES. AN INQUIRY URGED. Received 22, 4 p.m. London, November 22. At a meeting of the Imperial Maritime i.eague. Lord Ampthill presiding, a resolution was proposed by Sir John Coltmib, seconded by Admiral Cave and adopted, urging a Government enquiry into the scope and effect of Hie recent I changes in the Navy with a view to the country being informed in regard to the naval policy.
