Weston waited on the Board with Mr. Wilson, and submitted a statement, showing that the improvements required were ellected—Kesolved that the transfer be recommended.
mUiSWORTHY HOA'D. Tin' application of T. M. Avery to purchase closed portion of U'olsworthy roud was considered, together with applications from Ihe Maiigori'i Road Board, and Taranaki County Council ior the road to be re-opened. Mr. Ci. Grey waited on the Board with Mr. T. Avery, and in opening the case stated that owing to the road being shown on the plan of sub-division on the north side as a public road, when it was really a closed road, he had to form the road at a cost of £IOO, and in filling up 41 dip had to spoil the best building site he had. Sir. (iwv asked on behalf of Mr. Avery that the' road should be submitted to public competition, i it was resolved that the necessary I steps be taken to re-open the road from the end of the existing road near Mr. Avery's house to the Mangorei road. - MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS.
An application for a sub-lease of section 4, block 3, Ngatima.ru, from T. G. Dewar to U. H. Rawlinson, was approved. The occupation of section. 5, block 10, Opaku, by Mrs, A. C. Fergusson under temporary lease was again considered It was resolved that Mrs. Fergusson should be charged rent for temporary occupation at the rate .of 4 per cent, per annum on the present capital value, as from January Ist next, pending the land be re-selected, it being at present open for application. E. Parrott gave notice of intention to acquire the freehold of section 10, block 5, Ohura.—Resolved that Mr. Tolme he instructed to act as appraiser for this purpose. F. G. Thomas applied for a lease of section 11, block 0, Aria, as an addition to her holding—Application was ap- ' proved subject to a valuation by the
ranger. T. \V. Brown applied for a lease ot section 5, block 7, Oliura. —Declined. K. C. S. Jones applied for tlie freehold of section 30. block 11, Opunake, forfeited at last meeting for non-payment of rent. —Forfeiture rescinded and application for freehold approved. J. H. Roche applied for a lease of Crown land on the side of the Oliura iriver opposite his section, No. 3, block 2, I-leao.—Deferred for ranger's report. ,1. Lorrett slated that sections 11, 12 and. 13, block 0, Kapara, were too rough to improve upon, and were useless to him.—Section declared forfeited. The ranger (Mr. Twiss) reported having resumed possession of the following forfeited sections:—Section 74, block 4, I'aritutu, 5 acres; "section 3, block 5, Eginont, 230y. acres.—Reports adopted; the bind to be re-oiVered for selection, weighted with valuations for improvements. fi, iSynin gave notice of termination of tenancy of part railway reserve in section l-i, block 7, >'gaire.—Notice of termination accepted, the land to be dealt with subsequently. The following local bodies .submitted proposals for expenditure of accrued thirds: —Waiinate Road Hoard, £lO i)s |od: Okalo Road Board, £SO IDs; Pa tea East Road Board, £8 2s 3d—Approved. 11. T. -101 l applied for further extension of time to etlVct improvements on sections 15, block 8, and 31, block 0, Mimi, submitting a statement of value effected to date.—Resolved to grant exlensimi of six months. A schedule of tenants -still in arrear who had received notice of intention to sue for amounts due nvas laid on the table.—Consideration was deferred for a month.
G. Russell applied for the 50 acres cut off section 21. block 9, Totoro, to be restored to him. —Resolved, that as the laud is a gazetted reserve the application could not be entertained. H. T. Twiss (Crown Lands Ranger) reported on the inspection of 22 holdings, comprising 12,154 acres. The value nf improvements required was £4134, and of tbo.se effected £8489. One tenant was not residing, and three had not effected sufficient improvements.—Notice to be given to those in default. The ranger's report on Makahu township reserve was read, showing that the forest intended for reservation bed heen destroyed by order of the dairy factory company.—Resolved that the authority given in February, 1005, upon which the hush was cut, should be cancelled.
