Wilson (-Mi' Wilkes) claims of 1 1>> Id and iCI (is lor meat supplied, the Magistrate gave judgment for the amouuts claimed with, costs £1 12a on I each.
H. Willis, Inspector of Factories, proceeded against D. Hamilton, mana- | ger of the Kgmont road sawmill, on four informations for failing to pay wages fortnightly to employees at the mill. Defendant pleaded guilty and was lined 10s ami costs 12s on the first information and 10s without costs on the remaining three. The inspector also prosecuted (ieorge Cock on two informations for failing to a half-holiday to a woman on October 10th last. Defendant pleaded guilty and was lined 10s and costs 7s on the first and 10s without costs on th<* second information. For similar breaches of the law J. \V. "Winfield was lined 10s and co«ts 7s on the first and 10s without costs on the second information; Drake Bros, were fined 10s and costs 7s; and H. L, Marsh ' was fined 10s and costs 7s.
