I I Recently a notice was published in j tli» "Dominion' 1 stating that tlie various shipping companies in the direct trade to London from New Zealand had agreed to reduce the rate of freight on hemp and flax, etc., for this season, owing to the low prices ruling. Notice is now given of a reduction of the freight ou wool and sheepskins. This is brought about by the depressed state of the Home market for these lines. Last wiater's rates will rule for the coming season—viz., greasy -wool and skins, 71-6 d per lb; slipe and washed wool, 9.16 d per lb, plus 10 per cent, primage. In past seasons the summer rate was at least %d higher than the winter rate, and shippers will this season benefit accordingly. The Corinna returned to this port from Onehunga last night. She sals for southern ports this afternoon. A smart passage brought the New Zealand Shipping Company's liner Ruapehu from London to Hobart two days ahead or scheduled time. She sailed from Hobart on Thursdav morning, and is due to arrive at Wellington this afternoon. PROJECTED DEPARTURES TO-DAY. Rarawa, for Onehunga, 8.30 p.m. Corinna. for Southern ports.
