During Rucf's trial on charges of "graft," Francis, district attorney, who prosecuted Schmitz and others at San Francisco for "graft," was murderously assaulted in the Court. He is believed to be dying. His assailant is a saloon keeper named Morris Haas, who was arrested. He declared that he bad been ruined by Heney and therefore shot him.
