SOCIALISM'S SET-BACK.
ILL-ADVISED ACTIONS OF JTS LEADEKS. taeived 13, 10.54 p.m. London. November 13. 1 The Ucv. Campbell, in a sermon in the City Temple, attributed the setback socialism had received at the municipal elections to the actions of some of those professing to be its spokesmen, it was deplorable that when the snllering poor were wanting universal commiseration and sympathy sonic so-called socialists should use language inciting mob violence. Such language was the very negation of the ideal professed. Jt expressed greed and cruelty, not love for the brotherhood of men. Possibly socialism would sufle * similarly at the Parliamentary polls.
