LICENSING.
By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. Mr. J. Gunson, of Auckland, to-day received the following cable from the Governor of Maine, U.S.A., in aaswer tu one sent yesterday as to the effect r' No-License there:—"ln my judgment, the people of Maine will continue the prohibitory law. They believe it to be the best* method commercially and morally- of controlling the liquor traffic. —(Signed) Wm. T. Cobb, Governor of the State of Maine."
