CORRESPONDENCE.
THURSDAY NIGHT'S DEBATE. To the Editor. Sir, —Two points, I think, must have struck the intelligent auditor at Thursday night's debate, viz., the failure of Mr. Enroth as a debater and the contemptuous manner in which the Rev. Mr. Lsitt dismissed Mr. Enroth's Biblical authorities. I have always regarded the attitude of the churches on this question as the heaviest blow ever struck at the divinity of Christ. God i.-i the same to-day, yesterday, and for ever. He lives ill the future as in the present, and consequently He would do to-day as He did 4000 years ago, and as He would do 4000 years hence. If the Rev. lsitt denies this, then, by imp'ication, he denies the Godhead ®f Christ and the inspiration of His apostles.—l am, etc., J.A.H.
