f To the Editor. ■Sir, —When L wrote the letter oh the above subject, winch you |>ulj!i-hed in the News of October 27 th last, I did so m the hope that some one who ha. I practical knowledge of such matters might be moved to give Us (myself and others of your readers) the benefit of his experience, and 1 still hope for that result. I certainly never looked forward to such a lovely, lambasting as "Onlooker" gave me, to which I -hull not reply, as the writer lias not deigned to sign it, though 1 cannot let it pass without an absolute denial of any intention" to make any attack, cowardly or otherwise, on any member of the Hoard of Education or its officers. I am personally acquainted with nearly if not quite all of these gentlemen, and should be very, sorry if any of them thought that I wished in any way to make a covert attack on them. —r am, &>•..
