The Daily News SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 7. THE DAIRY REGULATIONS.

I A desire having been expressed that Sir Joseph Ward, when in is'ew Plymouth on Jviouday, should receive a deputation I of the farmers of the distriet lor the purpose of having placed .before him

StheU' views on the new dairy regulations, the Premier was communicated with, and has expressed his willingness to hear the views of the farming community on the question. A good deal has been heard about these regulations of late, and although it is generally admitted that they are in no way op- • pressive, there are some people who consider there is still room for modi- , iieation. As the regulations do not I ' come mto operation lor another ten , onontlis, there is plenty of time to have 11 amendments made in the interim. The opportunity afforded by the Premier's visit is therefore an exceptional one

I for clearly showing in what direction I those engaged in the dairying industry 8 I consider the regulations might be img proved, and it is to be hoped the farni- | crs will take advantage of the occasion i to impress on the Minister for AgricuiH ture, through Sir Joseph Ward, their g desires. The farmers supplying the H various dairy factories throughout the S district, although the notice is necesE sarily short, will no doubt be able to B arrange in each case to be represented 5 by one or two of their number as deg putationists. They might arrange all B to meet, say, half an 'hour before the H time fixed for receiving the deputation, H 11 a.m., at the Town Hall and select H their speakers. In this way the busi- ■ j ness would be greatly expedited in the H interests of both the Premier and the SS deputation.
