TARANAKI AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY.
The committee of the Tarnnnki Agricultural Society met last night. Mr. \V\ Ainbury presided, and there was a large attendance of members. .Ur. .J. R. Hill reported that Mr. Goo. Pitt would donate fifty red pine rails for siiow pens.—Tile oiler was accepted with thanks, and Jlr. Hill was authorised to have the rails carted to the grounds. Tile tender of the New Plymouth Orchestra to supply music at the show was accepted, and Jlessrs. Anilmry, Watson, and Wood were requested to arrange the programme. The tender of Mr. A. L. Cooke was accepted for medals. Tile tender of Mr. R. \V. Bond for tiie erection of a water trough on the grounds was accepted. The manager of the Ruakura State Farm wrote, catering three Ayrshire bulls for the show.
Mr. Wood reported upon the matter of providing proper accommodation for the dog section. Uv recommended that for this year the Society should hire waterproof sheeting material.— This recommendation was adopted. The secretary remarked that the dog section was becoming increasingly popular, and tile Society would take steps to house the animals more comfortably.—Should the entry of animals this year jnslify the expenditure, the Society will go into the mailer of erecting pei'iiiane'it kennels for Hie next show.
