Mr. Keynes has joined the Rotoiti as second officer in place of Mr. J. Sutherland, who has resigned from the Union Company's service. The Penguin brought 27 tons of general cargo from Onehunga yesterday morning. The Kotoiti from the South yesterday morning brought 105 tons of cargo. This included transhipments ex Surrey from Londou, Moeraki from Melbourne anj Uobart, Waikarae from Sydney, and Westralia. jroni Dunedin. Included in the cargo were 200 boxes of tin plates for the Waitara Freezing Works, 2UO bags of rice, 150 cases of sultanas, 80 sacks of molasses fodder, 70 cases >i turpentine, 100 cases of jams, aud Gi boxes of soaps. The Takapnna reumes her running today between. Wellington, New Plymouth, and Onehunga. An ritquirv- has been held at Newcastle by Captain H. Newton, Superintendent' of Navigation, regarding the missing barque Loch Lomond. Reports were, submitted by the inspectors, and evidence was given by police, coal-trim-mers, and others concerning the loading and equipment of the vessel. It was shown that the vessel was well found, and she was said to have been in a perfectly seaworthy condition when she left Newcastle. There was nothing to account for the disappearance of the barque, Captain Newton will report to the New South Wales State Treasurer the result' of the enquiry.
