The Coriima returned from Onehunga last night. She loads a shipment of * tatter and cheese and sails again for the South this afternoon. Heavy passenger booking at Home has necessitated the shipping companies fitting out their cargo boats for the recep--1 tion of passengers. According to a Southern exchange, the New Zealand Shipping Company's s.a. Papanui, which .has been taken off the direct route, is carrying a. large of passengers to the Dominion. She sailed from london for Dunedin early last month. In addition the vessel has cargo for Dunedin, Timaru, and Lyttelton. * A doubt has been raised whether tlie wreckage discovered thirty miles of Cape Maria Van Diemen is from fie missing barque Loch Lomond. It is sug- ■ gested (says the 'New Zealand Times') that the letters " Loc" discernable on the broken door may be simply portbn of the word " looker." The Marine Department's decision t > .send the Amokura to the Chathams to look for the Loch Lomond is due, according to the' Dominion, to smoke having been sten rising from the rock called "The Forty-fours." The Amokura is also to call at the Kermadecs and at tlic Three Kings,'and it is expected that her ■journey will enable those on board to make "a useful statement as to the wreckage which has been reported fro:n the north of Auckland.
