LONDON MARKETS. London, October 30. Wheat—The market is firm, with a confident tone, reflecting the feeling in America. It is reported that some damage has been done to the Argentine crops by frost. Cargoes are firmiy held. A line of 10,000 quarters from Adelaide and Victoria, December-Janu-ary shipment, was sold at S'.ii lid. The market for supplies on the t i,'L is quiet at 30s lid to 41s. Flour—The market is steady. Quotations: At London, 20s to 27-, ex store; at Glasgow, sellers are asking 20s 9d to 27s c.i.f. Copper—On the spot L'til 12s Od, three months £O2 lUs. Electrolytic copper £O3 15s. ix'ad, £l3 2s 6d. Sugar—German 10s, first marks lis 9d. Wool—The Bradford wool market is' unchanged. The tone is better. Butter—Market firm. Danish 130s to 131s. Tln i'e is good demand for choicest colonial at llSs to 1225. There is a special demand for unsaltcd, the price of which is about 2s per cut. above that for unsulieil. Silver, 23 1-1 lid. Da'.j'iv and Co.. Ltd.. Wellington, have received llie following cable messages from their London house, under date of til j 2!) th inst.:— Frozen meat —lieef: Prices are '/ s ;l per lb. lower. Mutton: Prices are unchanged. The lamb market is firm, but prices are unchanged. The market is unfavorably affected by the warm weather. Tallow—The market is unchanged. DAIRY PRODUCE RETORT. Messrs. E. Griffiths and Co. are in receipt of the following market report from their London principals, Messrs. Mills and Sparrow, dated 18th September, IDUB: — The market generally since our last is firmer with a good demand for finest grades. There is no doubt we are going to have quite a pinch in best butters duiing the next two or three months, and it would appear that prices ara likely to be fully maintained. Danish: Four kroner (4s 8d) higher and butter clearing well. Siberian: Market firmer for all grades. Since our last prices have advanced 3s to 4s. There is small supply of finest grade and the advance is fully made on these, there not being sufficient to fill requirements. French: There has .been. an advance of . 4s on salt. Unsalted has been unchanged. Orders have been pleutixul this week for best grades, as they have been showing good value. Irish: Prices for finest Irish creameries have advanced 2s to Is since last week. Most of the dairies have cleared their butters this week at top price. New Zealand: Firmer. There has been a better demand for New Zealand this week, and the s„s. Wakanui's shipment is sellin" at full rates. Australian: There is very little butter offering, but what is being sold has been in store for some time, and cannot be classed as finest. I Cheese. —Market is on the firm sid?, I and there has been a good enquiry bolh for best and under grades.
