The programme of the annual meeting of the Waihi Sports Club appears in to-day's issue. The meeting, which takes place on Thurstiay, November 19, includes the Waihi Cup ( £2O), Publicans' Handicap (£ls), Flying Handicap (£l2), Hurdles, Farmers' Plate and Maiden plate (each £10), and a handicap trotting race ( £10). Nominations for all events except the Maiden .and Farmers' Plates close with the lion, sec., Mr. H. George, on Monday November 2nd, at 9 p.m. The attention of horse-owners and trainers is directed to the programme I of the Waitara R.C. advertised in another column. A substantial increase in stakes should attract good nominations, especially as the date approved of, December 3, does not clash with other gatherings. Nominations close on November 7 at 9 p.m.
