The Star says that the local Stock Inspector (Mr. Elliot) and stall liave commenced the inoculation of calves in the H&wera district. A party of thirty member of the Tarata branch of the Farmers' Union visited the Momohaki Experimental Farm on the 15th inst. Mr. 1. J. Airgin. chairman of tin: Union, was in charge of the party. On arrival, luncheon was provided, after whicn the members of the party visited the experimental fertiliser plots and inspected the Border Leicester and Southdown stud tiueks. The Sonthdowns, it will be remembered, were presented to Inc Department a few months ago by Mr. E. Short, of Feilding. The visitors were very pleased with some of these sheep and their lambs, and considered them a gift of great value. The stud llorsea, poultrr and grass plots were next visited, 'after whieli the party went through the jinrserv and orchard, before leaving. Mr. Virgin, on behalf of the Lninn. thanked the manager for the attention the parly had received. Several others also expressed their appreciation of what they had seen during their visit to the farm. The manager. in reply, stated he was pleased to have a visit from the Tavat.i branch I of the Farmers' I'nion. but regretted that the visit had been made at a time of the year when there was not very much in the way of crops that eotihl be .studied, but he hoped that Lli'-v ] would find it convenient to vi<it the farm at some future date, and at a season when there would be moie to . see.
