NORTH TAR AN Alii ASSOCIATION. A special meeting of the North Tar.inaki Cricket Association was held lithe lied House Hotel on Thursday night, llr. \Y. C. Weston (prvcident) was in the chair. The following delegates were present:—ilessis l'erhant and Avery (Carrington ltoad), Berg Elliott, anl Wililaius (New i'lymouth), Clegg (Inglewood), ilackay, C'rawshaw (United Service), March (Egmont Village), and tlie secretary (Jlr. E. Whittle). Several amendments in the rules it regard to .Saturday cricket were approved. The secretary was instructed to write to the Otago and Canterbury Associations to ascertain if matclus could be played against North laraua .i eitlier on their journey to or from Auckland.

The secretary was also instructed toj write to Mr. H. Dempsey, headmaster | of the Central School, stating that the Association was giving a shield' for competition among teams from public. schools and asking him to get the cooperation of the other teacherg in J North Taranaki to arrange the competition. The resignation of Mr. Crombie (Inglewood) from the selection committ2e was accepted with regret. Mr. D. Clegg was appointed to fill the vacancy. A letter was received from the Recreation Sports Ground Committee giving the Association control of the wicket under the same conditions as last season. —The secretary was authorised to take charge on behalf of the Association. It was resolved to call a meeting ot representatives of the'clubs for Tuesday evening next to consider the Advisability of appointing a man permanently to attend to the wickets the Recreation Sports Ground. The meeting will take place at the New Plymouth Club room.
