At the adjourned incjucst concerning tile death of James Kil.patrick, a verdict was returned that deatii was due to heart failure and double pneumonia. Deceased had lieen drinking heavily. He was transferred from Lyttclton gaol to tilie hospital, as tliere were not the necessary facilities at the gaol for the treatment of sneli eases.
