IiOLDSWORTHY ROAD. The application oi T. M. Avery toI purchase part of closed Holdsworthy road was again considered, together with objections by the owners of land adjoining. Mr. O. W. Sole waited on the Board and stated his objection to the application. It was resolved to defer consideration uutil next meeting, ; and that the Mangorei Road Board bo communicated with. THE "LANDLESS" QUALIFICATION. The Commissioner reported that A. H. Ellicott, who drew section 4, blo.-k 7, Waro, at the ballot on 23rd September held 744 acres of first and second class land.—Resolved that Mr. Ellicott and his wife be declared not landless according to the Act, and that the sections drawn by them be allotted to the landless applicants who came second in the ballot, as follow: —Section 1, block 15, Ohura, August Scluiltz; section 4,' block 7, Waro, Janet Eide. The applications of the other successful candidates at the ballot were approved. FORFEITURES. The Board declared forfeited the interests of the following selectors in the Puniho V„S., who had not paid arrears of rent as demanded:—E. C. J3, Jones, section 30, block 11, Opunake; W. A. Thomas, section 37, block 11, Opunake, The Ranger reported regarding resumption of forfeited sections as fil-J lows:—Section 8, block 1, Pouatu; s3c-| tion 2, block 8, Waro.—Resolved to offer | under optional conditions in terms oi the Ranger's report. FREEHOLD. (Permission was granted the following applicants to convert the tenure of their 0.R.1'. land to freehold:—ll. Irwin, section 18, block 11, Opunake; J. 11. Wilson, section 7, block 12, Waitara, EXPENDING '-THIRDS." The Whangamomona. County Council submitted proposals for expenditure of £l2O 4s lOd accrued thirds.—Approved. The Stratford County Council applied for permission to use the thirds from sections 1 and 2, block 4, Oinona, scheduled for work on Puuiwliakau road, in felling bush on Tapuni road.— Approved. RANGER'S REPORT. E. Toluie, Crown Lauds Ranger, reported on the inspection of 123 holding', comprising 25,371 acres. The required value of improvements was £5205, and the etfecled value .Ci 0.414; 104 selectors were residing. Six had not complied with the requirements in that respect, and one had not effected sufficient improvements.—Resolved that notice ue given to the selectors in default. GENERAL.

James Carver stated reasons for not residing on section 2, block 11, Aria.— Resolved that he must forthwith citaer reside, transfer, or sublease, or his interest will be liable to forfeiture. B. and E. Prior applied to be allowed to effect improvements required on sections 5 and 7, block 7, ilahoe, and on section 7 for the present, owing to difficulty in reaching sections. —Resolved that twelve months' extension of time, be granted to effect the necessary improvements on section 5. S. Lowe waited upon the Board in support of an application by liihiiolfi and A. L. Bishell to select section 3, block 14, L'pper Waitara.—Resolved that, the laud be disposed of to the applicants under section 138 of the Land Act, 1008, upon condition that no request is made to the Department for road access to be provided. Mr. Lowe agreed to the provision. J. O'-Sullivan applied to sublet section 4, block 0, Kaupokonui, to A. Patterson—Approved. L, 11. Snow applied for the lease of section 3, block 13, Alia, to be issued.— Resolved that the lease be issued. The Ranger reported on improvement s effected by J. W. Taunt on section Off, block 14, l'ouatu.—Considered satisfactory.

\V. HaUctt and F. E. Cleland applied to divide a ections D 7 and DO, block 10. Pouatu, so that a natural fencing boundary may be that the matter be left in the hands of the Commissioner, to obtain • an approved sketch of the proposed division. Messrs. Farnluun Bros., holding a sublease of sections 7 and 21, block 2, Xgutimaru, from W. Rowan, with right of purchase, asked the Hoard to assist him to obtain a transfer of the laud to them. —Resolved to inform theiu that the Board regrets it is unable to assist them.

The Northern Ohura Medical Association asked for a site for a doctor's residence be set apart at Matiere—Resolv-'d to leave the matter in the hands of the Commissioner. Messrs. Weston and Cameron ask«.<3 that sufficient thirds from sections 4. and 5, block 8, iluiroa, be set apart to meet interest on a loan for Motukawa road. —Resolved that the application be approved so far as the money will go. W. J. McDerniott applied tor the provisions of the Bush and Swamps A-.t, 1003, to be extended to him upon obtaining a transfer of section 4. block 10, Oinona,—Resolved that the Board is unable to graut the application. J. and StoekJey applied to be allowed to divide section 42. block C, Ngatimaru, f and obtain separate leases. —Resolved'that upon a plan of survvy being submitted at the expense of the applicants the application be approved. S. Riddle explained why lie had built, hi-* on land adjoining section G 1 I block 10, Totorn. instead of on the seetinn.—Resolved that the notice of forfeiture be withdraw)i and further action; suspended for the present.
