THE LATE MRS. KNOX'S ESTATE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Might. The late Mrs. Eliza/both Knox left ,tl)l;000, <M whit'h £44,000 has been bequeathed specifically to various loeAi charitable and public institutions. A further £25,000 lias also been left at the disposal of the trustees to expend for charitaible purposes. The items range from £SOO for such institutions as the Veterans' Home and the Sailors' Home, and up to as high as £20,000 for a hospital for incurables. A sum of £2500 is left to build a night shelter for homeless men. Mrs. Knox did not leavo any children, her nearest ing relatives being her nephew, Mr. George Russell, of College Ilill, and Miss Russell (who resided with her aunt), and Mrs. James McGee, of Pitt street. .
