"Facing the Mush*," to l>e staged on 'the 23rd by the local amateurs in a'd of the Kecreatioii sports Ground fumi, is -one of the most successful of the farcical comedies produced by Mr. Frank j Thornton. As a laughter-raiser it more I thau holds its own with Mr. Thorntoa's masterpieces, "Charlie's Aunt" and "The 'Private Secretary." It was staged here 'about live years ago, and all who .saw it 'then will be glad to renew their acquaintance with it. l[ is a. }>luy admirably suited to amateurs, and proved very successful when recently produced in Wanganui, jjunediu, and Wellington by amateur companies. The object of 'tiic benefit is a good one, and a bumper house should greet the company next Friday. The box plan opens at the Dresden on Monday ■morning.
