A STIFF SENTENCE. Calcutta, October 9, ITotilal Varum, who was sentenced on July 30 to transportation for seven years, lias received a further sentence of five years' rigorous imprisonment for sedition, the sentences to be concurrent. Varum spent several weeks at Hong Kong preaching sedition among the Sepoys.
