By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. (A football match under Northern Union rules between Taranaki and Auckland was played here yesterday in perfect weather. There was an attendance of about 3000, and the game was an attractive exhibition. A great deal of excitement was caused in the later stages of tiie match by Taranaki passing Auckland's score. During the last few minutes Auckland scored ft converted try, and thus won by 21 points to 18. Tries were scored for Auckland iby W. Tyler, McDonald, ltow,'. 1!. Wynyard, and Marshall, and goals were kicked by Tyler, T. Houghton, and Marshall. For Taranaki. Buckland, W. McLean and Hooker (2) scored tries, and Hardgraves kicked three goals. AMATEUR RUGBY. Napier, Last Night. The Napier Club beat Ahuriri on Saturday by 9 points to 3 in the final for the Napier Rugby championship, after a very rough game.
