A Gazette notice to-night fixes Ihe export duties on timber at 5s per hundred feet on white pine and kahikatea logs, and 3s per hundred feet on Hitches not exceeding ten inches wide. The export duty on kauri is 5s per hundred feet on logs, and 3s oil Hitches exceeding thirty inches ill width and nije inches in thickness, or its equivalent. BUOYS OF LOCII LOMOND PICKED UP. Trouble has arisen over the land required by the Blackball Coal Company for bins and shunts. The trouble is that the land taken by proclamatinn for railway purposes leaves fhe company too little land for bins, etc. Th:| company asked that certain land should be allotted to it. The Hallway Department, would not agree, as it would bring the bins too close to the railway.
