INGLEWOOD BACON COMPANY

The following is the annual report ol the lnglewood Bacon company to in presented at the annual meeting o; shareholders on Saturday next.

Your directors again have the pleasure of presenting the annual balance of the company. During the year there 'ha B been a substantial increase in the number of pigs received. Owing to this, and also to the low average weight of the pigs, doubtless caused by the shortage of milk during the exclusively dry summer, the financial result oi the years working, a* disclosed hy thu balance sheet, luis not been ol the most satisfactory nature. Taking into consideration, however, the fact that shareholders have received during the year the sum of £37*2 18s. over ami above the market price, the result to share-1 holders must be deemed fairly satisfy-; tory. In order to provide for more efii- j cient and economical working of the factory, your directors have during the year made subs'tiuitial addition* to the buildings and plant, and it is confidently hoped that as a result thereof the company will be placed in a much better position to economically handle a still larger number of pigs than beiore. The company has during the year set up a digester plant, and is now producing a iirst-class fertilising manure. The retiring directors are .Messrs Chard, Home, and Todd, all of whom are eligible for re-election. Mr M. llopson, the retiring auditor, again oilers his services.— Arthur -Morton, chairman.
