GARCIA— W1 LLCOX. At hallo tu, on \\ (.'dneriday, two young people, who al'e well anil favorably known, were united in the 'bonds o> matrimony. The participants were Mr. I •jas. Garcia, ol Opunake (formerly ol [ Thames and 'Pacroa), and Miss Man \\ illcox, third daughter of .Mr. Paul V. ilk-ox. The ceremony .took place >it the residents of the parents, "Fr.Tlands, Raliotu, and a large number oi guests attended. The Rev. I''. U. livans, of New Plymouth, tied tlie nuptial
knot. The bride, who was given away | by her father, was attired in a liguieil j silk voile dress, trimmed with laee m- j I seition. Slit; wore a veil and orange' blossoms and carried a shower bouquet. I
Miss Nellie \\ illcox (sister of the bride) attended as bridesmaid, and was dressed in cream cashmere, with white silk trimmings. She also carried a shower bouquet. .Mr. W. A. Hutchinson, 01 Wanganui, was l>eat. man. The bridegroom presented the bride with a goi.l watch and chain, and the bridesmaid with a gold brooch. The guests sang, "How Welcome was the. Call," and Mrs. Campbell played the wedding march. A dainty nud substantial repast was partaken of, and in the centre ot the table was a richly-ornamented wedding-cake. The Rev. Mr. Evans, in
a happy .speech, proposed the health of the newly-wed couple. Air. Garcia suitably responded, and proposed Lhe toast of the bridesmaid, which was replied to by .Mr. Hutchinson. The father of the biide and the uncle of the bridegroom (Mr. Ahier) also made appropriate remarks. A large number of useful ami ornamental presents were rcc-civ-'d, showing the esteem in which the coupte were held. The bride's travelling-dress was a lavender fabric, with hat to match. The happy couple left in the afternoon, with the orthodox send-off, for New Plymouth, en route for Wellington, where the honevinoon will be spent.
