An appalling disaster was narrowly averted bv the proximity of rescuing vessels and a full provision of life boats. Aboard the Argonaut there Has splendid discipline among th e crew and great coolness among the passengers. The mishap occurred m the daytime, and this also made the rescue work much more easy. ... ® -Vs° naut 's passengers, including fifty ladies, were breakfasting when the collision occurred. They were instantly transferred to tire boats. The Argonaut fotlhdured within twenty minutes Tile passengers were taken 'aboard the Kingswell, but she was compelled to beach owing to iter injuries. Another vessel rescued the passengers and conveyed them to Dover.
