TE.UPERA.NCE TJJAUHINO IN SCHOOLS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. A deputation from lilie Women's Christian Temperance Association waited on the Hoard of Education this afternoon with a request that the Board should consider the advisability of having temperance instruction in schools and making a class subject of temperance. They handed in text books which they would provide. 'They also wished to placard the walls in the interests of the cause. The chairman of the Board (.Mr. C. J. Parr) said that under the syllabus the Board had no power to make a special subject of temperance and alcohol, out tumor the heading of moral instruction many of tint teachers made a point, with the approval of the Board, of touching on temperance in their lessons in physiology.
